Let the learning continue as you experience one of the Uniquely Dallas Unsession Learning Tours. Some of the best learning opportunities are often those that you experience first-hand. And as you learn you can feel good about your experience, knowing that your fee of $35 will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank of Dallas. Please note that each of the seven Unsession learning experiences has a limited availability so sign on early so you can explore all that is unique about Dallas!
All tours are subject to change and will be booked on a first come first served basis for ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition; 18 and over delegates only. Dallas reserves the right to edit availability based on the nature of the tour. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and attire. Limited wheelchair accessibility is available.

Dallas Arts District — Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art & Crow Collection of Asian Art

Experience a personalized docent tour of three of its world — class museums. The Crow Collection of Asian Art celebrates the bridging of Eastern and Western culture by showcasing more than 750 Asian artifacts from China, Japan, India and Southeast Asia. The Dallas Museum of Art, whose encyclopedic collection consists of 23,000 works of art, spans 5,000 years of history and represents the ancient arts of several continents, ranks among the leading art institutions in the country. The Nasher Sculpture Center is one of the world's few institutions dedicated exclusively to the exhibition of modern and contemporary sculpture. Designed by Pritzker Prize — winning architect Renzo Piano, it includes a beautiful 1.4 — acre sculpture garden.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes personal tour of the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. "The Meyerson,"as it's also known, is located in the heart of the Dallas Arts District and was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei and acoustician Russell Johnson. See and hear the renowned Lay Family Concert Organ, the focal point of the Eugene McDermott Concert Hall with its 4,535 pipes. The Meyerson is the home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the largest performing arts organization in the Southwest, and its music director, Jaap van Zweden, was recently named Musical America Conductor of the Year 2012.

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

Tour the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza located in the historic building formerly known in 1963 as the Texas School Book Depository. Overlooking Dealey Plaza, this unique venue combines the atmosphere of an early 20th century warehouse with access to moving and educational exhibits examining the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Take special part in the voices program, a summary of highlights from the museum's oral history collection and narration of all the quotes from various people over the events of that day.

Get an exclusive preview of construction on two of Dallas' exciting and educational attractions. The George W. Bush Presidential Center has agreed to provide ASAE a rare tour prior to its 2013 opening. The Bush Center is being constructed on a prominent 24?acre site on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. The 226,500? square foot building will feature the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum and the already?active George W. Bush Institute. The building and grounds are designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
Next travel to downtown Dallas' Victory Park for a private hard hat tour and overview presentation of the Perot Museum of Nature & Science before the new facility's doors open in early 2013. This 4.7-acre site has its sights set on creating a new, world-class venue designed by 2005 Pritzker Prize Laureate Thom Mayne of the firm Morphosis. The new $185-million museum will include five floors of public space housing 11 permanent exhibition halls, plus a state-of-the-art traveling exhibition hall, a 300-seat large format, multi-media digital cinema, an education wing with six learning labs, an outdoor observation deck, a flexible space auditorium, a children's museum including an outdoor play space and courtyard, a public café, a retail store, and so much more.
