Opening Night Celebration
Saturday, August 8
7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Henry Ford Museum
Imagine witnessing the moment history was made!
Kick off your ASAE Annual Meeting inside the spectacular Henry Ford Museum where your imagination can run wild in one of the greatest gatherings of everyday genius. Iconic artifacts including the Rosa Parks bus, John F. Kennedy’s presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln’s chair, the mighty Alleghany locomotive, and even the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile all await you.
Henry Ford amassed a vast collection of artifacts documenting the genius of the American people—and then created a twelve-acre showcase in which to share it. Today, the site is a collection of classic automobiles, antique machinery, pop culture items, aircraft, and more documenting ordinary people and the objects they used in the course of their everyday lives. So wear comfortable shoes and explore what Conde Nast Traveler called “America’s Must See Museum!”
Throughout the evening, we’re providing special access and one of a kind experiences exclusively for you! Enjoy Michigan’s tastiest traditions with fun local food and libations. Dance the night away to some favorite local bands and feature performances from the legends of Motown including The Contours, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards, and The Four Tops.
Depart your ASAE host hotel for the Henry Ford Museum. Shuttle service to The Henry Ford begins at 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Return shuttles will begin at 8:30 p.m. with the last bus at 10:30 p.m.
Be part of the party that is history in the making!
